The Countdown is On
School Starts Next Week!
Sipping my coffee this morning before the rest of the faculty and staff arrived for morning devotions, I was pondering how each of us process transitions. When my boys attended FFCS, I remember the excitement of shopping for school supplies. I fully realize I was more excited about it than they were! Here on campus, the anticipation of having students back on campus has been growing.
Our theme verse for the school year is Joshua 1:9. This passage notes the Lord’s commissioning of Joshua to take over after the death of Moses. In the first chapter the Lord reminds Joshua three times to be “strong and courageous.” It’s a good reminder for all of us.
God goes before each of us in every life transition. Our life transitions may not be as dramatic as being tapped to lead God’s people into the chosen land. Even if the transition is simply feeling a tug on our heartstrings as our children are a year older headed off to school, and a year closer to moving on to God’s vocational calling for them, He is still faithful to us in those moments. He hears your prayers for your child.
We look forward with great anticipation to walking beside you this year and helping your child explore their God-given gifts and talents as they are being equipped to live out the life God is calling them to.
