PRESCHOOL
We know there are a lot of considerations when it comes to picking a preschool for your child. Will it be a positive and nurturing place where they feel safe? Will it be an environment where they are comfortable exploring? Do they need a routine where they can learn what is expected of them while still recognizing they are little ones who need time to play?
Our program is designed with these things in mind. We know how important a positive learning experience is to these students. Our preschool program is taught with a biblical worldview and is designed to support our students in reaching for their highest academic potential.
And just as important, especially as this is often the first school experience for children, we want to engage them in their learning while encouraging their spiritual growth.

Preschool Academics
The Firm Foundation preschool offers both a 3- & 4-year-old program and a 4- & 5-year-old program.
3- & 4-Year-Old Academics
These students meet twice a week. They focus on learning their ABC’s, letter recognition and letter sounds, as well as number recognition, counting, and the beginning of the concept of one-to-one correspondence.
4- & 5-Year-Old Academics
Meeting three times a week, this program has a stronger focus on the academic skills needed to prepare students for success in the academically high kindergarten program at FFCS. Their phonics focus includes letter recognition, letter sounds, and beginning blending. They also work on number concepts and science.
Common to Both Programs
Spiritual Formation: Both age groups participate in daily Bible lessons and focus on God’s love through the main events in the Old and New Testament. Having loving teachers committed to their love of Jesus and the God of the Bible supports student’s spiritual growth.
Key Skills: Listening skills, eye-hand coordination, and social skills are also taught in both classes through focused lessons and learning areas.
Activities
Our preschoolers have a wide range of activities, such as the Christmas program and a field trip to the Bizi Farms Pumpkin Patch!
Curriculum
The core curriculum includes reading, math, science, social studies, and Bible. Abeka is used to teach phonics and numbers. FFCS teaches D’Nealian handwriting. Bible curriculum is Positive Actions, and students enjoy the Read Aloud Bible Stories by Ella K. Lindvall. Spectrum Early Years Learning Letters is also used in the classroom.
